89 holiday homes on Lake Veere near the marina of the authentic village of Wolphaartsdijk in Zeeland (NL).
Machiels Building Solutions (MBS), the Genk-based timber-frame construction company of Group Machiels, is building 89 holiday homes on Lake Veere near the marina of the authentic village of Wolphaartsdijk in Zeeland (NL) in collaboration with the contractor Van Roey from Rijkevorsel.
For several weeks now, there has been great activity on “Veerse Kreek” where the second phase of the construction of the Zeeland holiday park has been in full swing. Here, MBS supplies wind- and watertight holiday homes for 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 people, finished with wood or wall strips, at a rate of 5 homes per week.
MBS strongly believes that sustainable construction should be easy, fast and qualitative at an affordable price. The installations in the Genk plant are now running at full speed to produce the timber frame elements, including windows, doors and wooden cladding, quickly and faultlessly. The elements are then assembled on site in one day to form luxury holiday homes, causing hardly any disruption to phase 1 of the park, which is already in operation. In this way, the client’s wishes are fully met, as they specified an ecological construction method with minimal environmental impact and speed with minimal disruption.
In addition, the houses are also well insulated, consume no fossil fuels and fully comply with the Dutch Building Decree, all additional assets that mean the future owners need not worry about energy costs. After assembly on site, the contractor Van Roey will take care of finishing the roof with tiles, installing the techniques and interior finishing.MBS and contractor Van Roey aim to have all 89 homes fully finished by next winter. For MBS, that then means the completion of practically 1,000 prefabricated timber-frame holiday homes over the past few years. That can already count, right?
