Buitenhof De Leistert, near Roermond in the south-east of the Netherlands, has built up a great reputation in the region. It has also expanded significantly every year since it opened in 2011.
For its latest upgrade, this ambitious holiday park looked across the Dutch-Belgian border to Genk-based Machiels Building Solutions (MBS). MBS supplied the park with 50 new holiday homes!
Recreatiepark De Leistert exudes tranquillity, authenticity and history. Many of its luxury holiday villas were inspired by traditional farmhouses, but it has built a large number of contemporary properties too.
Economies of scale and spreading of design costs
As a specialist in holiday-cottage construction, MBS was involved in building all the various styles of property. “We were only responsible for the timber-frame construction. Our partners, project developer Arcus Zuid and contractor Vlassak, took care of the assembly and finishing work.”
So what made De Leistert choose MBS? “We guarantee a fast build time, which means our client can sell and let the properties quicker. Not only that but timber-frame construction delivers significant economies of scale as serial production allows us to keep manufacturing costs down while also spreading design costs across multiple dwellings.”
