Genk – Driehoeven – Renovation facades Azalealaan
Ten kilometres from the MBS sites is Genk’s Azalealaan. And there, in the Driehoeven district, social housing company Nieuw Dak is renovating two apartment buildings with 32 flats. During the renovation, the flats will remain in use. Thus, the fast, scaffolding-free assembly and the ‘less disruption’ approach of MBS come into their own.
As the residents continue to live in their flats during the renovation, extra careful preparation is needed. Timber frame construction lends itself to this task like no other. Because MBS can fully prepare each panel in the production hall – including windows, insulation and exterior finishing. Because we work indoors, weather conditions have no impact on the schedule. The facade elements leave the production hall ready for use.
Delivered ready-to-use
The panels arrive at the site in the right order. There, our own assembly staff assemble each module in the shortest possible time. Thanks to well-thought-out preparation and tight planning, inconvenience to residents of the social housing estate is kept to a minimum. This saves a lot of logistics: in traditional renovation projects, you often have to look for a new home for the residents. For the social housing on Azalealaan, timber-frame construction makes that temporary move unnecessary.

In the production hall, we pre-install all the aluminium joinery and stone strip cladding. This makes the assembly on the social housing even faster.”
